Musical Director

The band is led by Erin Scrutton.

Erin led 100 women drumming for an arts event in Glasgow in 1992, then a workshop for International Women's Day. Women loved it so much, they asked her to set up a group. Glasgow's She Boom was born and Beat That followed.

Erin wrote and directed the drumming on the Pet Shop Boys’ hits Se A Vida E and Single Bilingual.

Erin has played with Jools Holland and toured with Horse.

Erin also:

-> leads Irvine's women's band, SumWumminDrummin.

-> co-directs The Good Soul Department, a voice and percussion combo.

-> has led hundreds of workshops for community and corporate events.

-> delivers sound and music arts projects - eg Glow Co-Create; GFT's Govan project for the 2011 Film Festival, Glasgow North arts project. 

-> plays with Banda 71.
